School/ADHD

I am having some issue's with my 9 year old and him forgetting stuff. This could rage from mitts to important papers to come home from school.
Our biggest problem with the adhd is the listening, forgetting, and loosing things.
As a parent I feel like I am going to loose my mind, I am so frustrated, the teacher is frustrated, and I bet my poor son is extremely frustrated.
I have laminated a small piece of paper and hole punch a hole and have it hanging on his book bag so he knows where it is but is not noticeable to others, reminding him of what to bring home.
I have talked to the teacher and her response to it all is the she remind him daily of the importance of taking things home and says if he doesn't bring home some thing on time and has to miss out on stuff then, it is his fault and he has to live with the natural consequences and not be able to participate.
I normally would go to school and pick him up or check in myself, but he know attends a different school and takes the bus.
We live 30 from the school and I work full time, and am not able to be there everyday, or I would be.

He is still forgetting things............Any suggestions how to help a very forgetful adhd child????
