accute anxiety disorderDear DR,
As an australian i have been diagnossed with accute anxiety disorder. Is this the same as what is listed here as general anxiety disorder. I have had this since nov last year and was told by my doctor that i would be better by now, but i am not and feel very disapointed. is this a realistic time fram to expect to be better.
Re: accute anxiety disorderWe do not use the term acute anxiety disorder, we use the term adjustment disorder with anxiety. Generalized Anxiety Disorder tends to be chronic. In fact, I think if anxiety is acute it should go away in less than six months. So, in my view (after 5 months, you are right to begin to wonder about the idea that it will just fade on its own accord.
