adjustment disorders

Post a new topicby Guest on Wed Apr 17, 2002 6:25 pm

I am wondering about treatments for adjustment disorders. The individual had adjustment disorder with mixed disturbance of emotions and conduct, chronic.

Also, I am wondering if an individual collects garbage/trash and has a severe difficulty disposing of it (i.e. if burning garbage wants to keep ashes close by) would this be more OCD or a separation anxiety of some sort.

There really is not a category of chronic Adjustment Disorders. Adjustment Disorder is usually an acute condition. There may be another diagnosis that is more chronic in nature co-existing.

OCD is more likely. This seems to be a variant of hoarding. Separation anxiety involves people, usually children.
