Anticipatory AnxietyDr.,
Thanks for your response on the anticipatory anxiety. I was wondering, though, since the panic attacks have stopped but I still have significant anticipatory anxiety (it can last several hours to most of the day for a couple of days a week) which still does get in the way much more than I want it to, what are some options to consider? The therapist says therapy, of course, but it could take a long time, numerous months of SLOW progress. Should I expect the Celexa to be reducing this or is another medication (if even in the short-term, maybe a few months until I have gained more skills through therapy and can drop it down) more appropriate as an adjunct to give me some more relief while I work on my skills? The thing is, I don't mind waiting for the Celexa to improve the anticipatory anxiety if it will take another month or so (I can use my Klonopin as needed in the meantime but it tends to make me sleepy for the first few hours so I don't like to use it much), but I don't want to keep increasing the dose of Celexa with the expectation that it is supposed improve the anticipatory anxiety if the drug is only intended to block the attacks themselves. Thanks as always. Also, I have received so much valuable information and advice from this site, I would like to give something back. Could you please let me know who I could send a donation to to show my appreciation? It could be an organization associated with this site or the medical center you are associated with since you have committed so much of your time to helping others this way. Thanks.
Re: Anticipatory AnxietyAt this point, I don't think that taking another medication is indicated. Time is probably just as important.
Healthcommunities.com is a for profit enterprise, so I don't think a donation is in order. Thank you for the offer.
Dr. , Thanks for your response on the anticipatory anxiety...
