exaggerated worry

Post a new topicby Guest on Sun Jul 15, 2001 8:22 pm

I was recently diagnosed with an IBS disorder. They said that they weren't sure but almost possitive it was caused by a anxiety disorder called exaggerated worry. They really haven't given me any medications or treatment options. Sense exaggerated Worry interferes with a person's neurotransmitters can it cause mood swings? Also I'd like to know of any treatments or excersises I can do to help my symptoms, any advice?

Many times medications such as tri cylic antidepressants, SSRI's, antianxiety medication are prescribed as an adjunct to GI regime. Some people find attending a stress management course useful. i would ask your doctor for a regime or a referral to a GI specialist.
