Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Worrying?First I would like to introduce myself. My name is Zach and I am a 19 yr old male currently being treated for a Generlized Anxiety Disorder. Just recently aprox 3 weeks ago my doctor gave me the option to go off of the Effexor XR which I had been taking for about a year to treat my nervousness. Going from 150-75-35mg-no meds at all, things seemed fine at first except for the "out of it" feeling I posessed. While being off of the medicine i came in contact with a bout of gastrointeritis. I vomitted once and it nearly sent my anxiety level through the roof. I saw a little bit of red after throwing up and just immediately assumed it was blood and I had stomach cancer or some other serious illness. Ever since that event I havent been able to relax and I have had nausia througout most of the day along with that on edge feeling where I can not seem to sit still. My appetite has decreased, and I have vomitted a second time as a result of panic while trying to eat.
At night however, my anxiety seems to decrease but the fatigue is harsh. My energy has been depleted. I contacted my doctor and he is having me go back on the meds, increasing the dosage each week. === My main question is should really be concerned about having a terminal illness? I have had extensive tests in the past showing no abnormalities 2 electro cardia grams an echo cardia gram colonoscopy blood work. numerous physical exams.
Re: Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Worrying? It is unclear to me why you would think you have a terminal illness when your doctor does not think so and your tests are normal...However, there is no way I could tell someone I have never met that they are not sick, how would I know?
