LexaproDr.,
I understand Lexapro is to be release shortly in the US and am curious about this relative of Celexa. Lundbeck has claimed that this "single isomer" version of Celexa is more effective than its predecessor and has publicly released small amount of data to support its assertions. However, I also understand that many psychiatrists, both quietly and openly, doubt the improved effectiveness. As a layperson, I do not have access to the clinical data and studies available to the professionals. Have you seen any of this data, and does there seem to be (at least based on studies performed) any meaningful benefit of this drug over its predecesor? Or does it appear to be just a way to extend sales of a drug whose patent has expired in the rest of the world? Thanks as always.
