lip squeezingDear Sir,
my 5 year old daughter has developed a new habbit. She squeezes her lower lip between her teeths when she goes of to sleep. i have tried to take it out even while she is asleep, but she even in her sleep puts it back. she has been doing it for the last one month or so. Does it show any underlying anxiety
Re: lip squeezingI am not a child psychiatrist, so if you have a concern that is more acute, you should look outside this site. I will say that at five, there are many mannerisms that do fade. I doubt that this is a manifestion of much in a child that is otherwise doing OK. I would try and not make her too anxious about it. If is keeps up another month or so or there are other manifestations, you could ask her pediatrician about it.
