Non-Rx Anxiety aids

Post a new topicby Guest on Tue Jul 30, 2002 8:21 pm

Dr.,

Are there any legitimate anxiety reducing supplmements, herbs, etc., which are safe to combine with SSRIs and actually help?

I have been doing so well at 40mg., yet I seem to still have a tendency to work myself up (particularly at the job), which can cause mild flare-ups. They are too mild for additional medication such as my Klonopin, but if there are teas or other things that can safely and effectively be taken regularly to keep my daily stress down, I think that might be helpful.

Thanks as always.

I am not an expert on this subject. There have been some studies that indicate that Kava is effective. There have been rare reports of liver problems with Kava. The evidence on vitamins and minerals and other more esoteric items is sadly lacking.
