school system fair testingI have one question about having a fair testing for autism at school. I was just told by one professional who does testing not for the school system, but for a company and she said that in order to get the proper diagnoses the child must be off on all his medications....my daughter was given further testing after testing out of her learning disability and I feel that her teacher was not being fair, because at the time she was retalin and I noticed that after we chose to take her off of that medication and put her on straterra, that she no longer had those strange quirks that her resource teacher had spoken of during her testing not mention she was on her medication DURING testing. I find that very UNFAIR and if I had known that she was being tested otherwise for any other neurological conditions,I would have put a stop to it and had her retested by her psychologist at the hospital that did her testing for ADD Now,it is in her file for good and has followed her through her freshman year in high school. I am having an IEP meeting on this Monday, should I mention to them that they need to be testing her while she is in her class without her medication or at least retest during the summer?
