I have bipolar II and have been diagnosed for 4 years. The number one key to living with this disorder is becomming educated. I read a few books including Bipolar Survival guide, Living with Bipolar, definitely check into reading books instead of online articles. My experience with online articles has been more depressive but reading books tends to give more helpful information. In your situation, it's probably not so much that you don't care about yourself as it is that you've given up on things ever getting better. If you will take the first step in reading exactly what bipolar is and understanding yourself you'll be able to separate what your really feeling from your depression. I have been down to the bottom and have very slowly methodically worked my way up. It definitely takes time and patience on your part but you can get through it. I am praying for you.
