I need help please. My friend had anxiety disorder five years seemed has recovered except occasional bouts. Recently he has turned depressive, having frequent sucidal thoughts! My am scd very worried. Please advice I should do to help. Thank so much.

It is very difficult when someone you love is suffering. I would recommend he seek professional help. He may be embarrased. You can use the internet including this site (see depression information) to reassure him that help can be effective. You could enlist the help of others to convince him to seek treatment. There is very effective help for depression and it would be a shame if he did not avail himself of it. The local medical society or his insurance may have a good list of appropriate referrals. Lastly, if he is really desparate, most areas have crises intervention service available; it is sometimes accessed through the emergency room of a local hospital but this varies from area to area.
