My husb is drug/alcohol addicted. He also suffers depression He has his own business, doesn't know how to say no, so puts himself under alot of pressure stress. He takes paxil 40mg daily trazadone. Lately his has no control over his addictions, risking loosing his license business on a daily basis. He has stopped going to aa meetings doesn't call his sponsor when he feels like drinking/using drugs. He has also let his personal apprearance go. Doesn't shower daily, has to be reminded to brush his teeth, doesn't shave daily. We fight almost constantly, get along fine when he isn't using. I'm getting concerned about him possibility of him hurting himself. He won't admit to his alcohol conselor his is drinking or using, ct repercussions. Won't see a mental health rapist. Afraid of it getting back to outpatient rehab. He has mentioned suicide more than once lately. I just don't know to do anymore. Please help me . Thank , DeeAnna

You are in a very tough situation. If he won't listen to you maybe there are others (children, family) he will listen to. You could attend Allanon to get some more specific advice. If you really think that there is a danger of suicide, most states do have commitment laws and he would need to go that route. As I said, unless he sees that he has a big problem, those that want to help are in a tough situation.
