Evolution and natural course of depression

Post a new topicby Guest on Fri May 17, 2002 12:17 pm

Dear doc,
Initially my symptoms included a lot of crying, but now instead there are bursts of uncontrollable anger at times on small issues. I am not on any medication. Is their any set pattern of evolving symptamatology in episodes of depression

Hurt and anger can be viewed as heads and tails of the same coin. There is really no set pattern and everyone is different. Sleep disturbance is as near as we have to a universal marker, but that is not what I think you are asking about.

In improvement, behavior changes before depression leaves. Sleep and appetite and energy improvements may procede improvements in mood.
