level of functioning post depression

Post a new topicby Guest on Tue Jun 18, 2002 10:53 am

Dear doc,
I was a happy go lucky type of individual. I was very organized in my day to day work and very efficient. I was quite an optimist pre-depression.
I next went through depression and I have improved considerably now but I am still going through some residual depression. I would like to know if I will ever return to previous level of functioning, if the depression does go away or should I forget about ever achieving what I used to accomplish and try and reduce my expectations from myself i.e settle for a lower level of functioning for the rest of my life.

No one can say. I have seen it go both ways and it is impossible to predict.
