SSRI Side-Effect??

Post a new topicby Guest on Fri May 31, 2002 11:36 pm

I realize this is a question that would best be answered by my own physician, but it is a weekend and he is not available. I hope you can give me some guidance. I am a 30 year old male.
I started Celexa this morning for depression (20 MG tablet). It is my 1st experience with any psychotropic drug besides Xanax. I have had no adverse side effects except that my eyesight seems to be a little poorer. My vision is not blurry and I see fine enough to drive. I notice the difference when trying to read. I seem to have a hard time focusing, especially the computer screen. I had an eye exam last month and the doc said I basically have 20/20 vision with a slight astigmatism. He said glasses were an "option" for me.
Anyway, I don't know if I should continue the Celexa tomorrow or stop it. How serious is this side-effect?

Two possibilities. As we get older, most of us will need reading glasses. It could be that the anxiety over taking the Celexa has made you notice the early signs.

Celexa can cause this lack of focus rarely, but not usually after only one dose. If this is the case, it is a reversible and not considered a serious side effect. I would talk to your doctor about it.
