wellbutrin

Post a new topicby Guest on Tue Jul 16, 2002 1:12 am

I have written before about wellbutrin and weight loss. I did not lose my appetite with it unfortunately-if anything the opposite. I am researching what I could add to it to help with that-it was once suggested topamax (sp) but I looked it up and it can cause blindness. I exercise almost daily for 40-50 minutes but my appetite is a problem.
What do you think of phendimetrazine?
Can wellbutrin cause increased appetite-is there a difference in the SR VS not
SR? Thanks!

As a rule, the SSRIs are associated with weight gain, while Wellbutrin and Serzone are not. All medications do have some side effects. The odds of liver problems with Serzone exist and visual problems with Topomax have been reported. We talk of benefits versus risks as essential to any decision.

I am unfamiliar with phendimetrazine.

Some of my patients have shown a good response to the no carbohydrate and high protein diets recommended by Atkins and others. There was a recent (last Sunday) New York Times magazine article that goes into them in detail.

Good luck.
