Bulimia

Post a new topicby Prisk on Thu Mar 05, 2009 8:05 pm

Im 16 and recently realised i have developed bulimia. I've also suffered from Chronic fatiuge, which has now relapsed.
It's been going on for a few months, but only now have i realised what was actaully going on. It started off as what i thought was subconscious ( once or week or so unexplained throwing up) but progressed into consciously thinking about it and making myself do it.
recently a few of my freinds have found out and insist on me telling my family and geting help. they dont understand i feel the need time to go through this myself, and beat this by myself.
what can i do?

Hi,
first off you should know that recognizing that you actually have a problem is the first step to recovery-i know that sounds so cliche but it's true. I don't know exactly what advice to give except that I do think your friends are right when they say that you should tell your family- or maybe a school counselor if you feel that your family can't help. I'm 27 and I've been dealing with this stuff since middle school- for me it's never been about a weight issue- it's more of a stress release. I thought I'd been doing ok but lately I can't even remember a day when I haven't thrown up... all I can say is please tell an adult so they can help you- I hate looking back at my life thinking , wow I've spent half of my life doing this ...

God Bless!
