Possible OCD?

Post a new topicby Guest on Fri Jul 19, 2002 1:52 am

If a person eats one food only to the exclusion of all other foods, is this compulsive? I have a friend whos son went from eating nothing but Cheetos (ages 2-3), then to chili, cheese and crackers(4-10), now to french fries. He won't eat anything else, day or night, and will starve himself if not given the current food choice. He's very small for his age (11) and is being treated for depression He has various behavior problems, especially at school.

I would be really remiss if I were to diagnose an 11 yo over the web on the basis of his diet. It certainly could be a variant of OCD, but there is not enough information to make a qualified diagnosis.
