Who do you contact for help and more information?I need to know best way to seek help
about ocd's. I have never told anyone my symptoms over 10 years now. As years go on it seems to get worse it's affecting all aspects of my life. It's embarrassing I know I need to talk to someone about it. Thank .
Re: Who do you contact for help and more information? As a rule, the most effective treatment is medication that is prescribed by a psychiatrist. A psychiatrist is a medical doctor. There are web contact sites listed at the OCD site on the mental health channel. If there is a hospital or medical university near you, you could contact them for a local referral. The Medical Society in your state and the American Psychiatric Assoc. will have names available.
re: Who do you contact for help and more information? How old are you? If you're over 18, you can seek help on your own. I would recommend going to www.ocfoundation.com (Obsessive-Compulsive Foundation website) and clicking on the link to find a recommended mental health professional in your area.
I would definately tell you to seek help.
