I need to know best way to seek help about ocd's. I have never told anyone my symptoms over 10 years now. As years go on it seems to get worse it's affecting all aspects of my life. It's embarrassing I know I need to talk to someone about it. Thank .

As a rule, the most effective treatment is medication that is prescribed by a psychiatrist. A psychiatrist is a medical doctor. There are web contact sites listed at the OCD site on the mental health channel. If there is a hospital or medical university near you, you could contact them for a local referral. The Medical Society in your state and the American Psychiatric Assoc. will have names available.

How old are you? If you're over 18, you can seek help on your own. I would recommend going to www.ocfoundation.com (Obsessive-Compulsive Foundation website) and clicking on the link to find a recommended mental health professional in your area. I would definately tell you to seek help.
