Suffering from Panic DisorderI have posted in the Anxiety forum also.. but Panic gives me the most problem.. especially when i have to do something that causes me so much fear...It literally makes me back out and thats it.
I am seeing a shrink and have been for the last 6 or 7 years and she has helped me out greatly.. i'm also on zoloft...and reading self-help books which are great... they inspired me and i am feeling somewhat more confident now.. Tracy
Re: Suffering from Panic DisorderTanki,
Thats great. It sounds like you have really bettered your life. I myself have just found out about a month ago that I suffer from panic attacks & GAD and other stuff. Yaaaaaa-NOT! But reading what you wrote makes me feel better about going to see a shrink and being on meds. And I am hopeing soon my panic attacks will stop. Thank you for writing about what you are going thru. charmer
I have posted in the Anxiety forum also. ...
Re: Re: Suffering from Panic DisorderGood job guys, stay with your treatment. People dont understand that mental illnesses are diseases and injuries too. The brain is not perfect and can malfunction every now and then. Would you see a doctor if u had cancer? OF COURSE YOU WOULD, same with anxiety. plus anxiety can lead to depression. and depression is a killer.

Re: Re: Re: Suffering from Panic DisorderHi Tracy,
I just read that you r taking t/ medication Zoloft - me too, and my mother was also until she went to a new dr. & was told that Zoloft is for depression - not anxiety. Myself, I still take it, simply because I don't have t/ money to visit my dr. rite now. Mom told me that there was a big difference when she was changed from Zoloft to a different medication, which of course, I can't remember t/ name of rite now. It's a funny sorta name, beginning w/ a B i think. I will find out if u'd like = well I'm gona find out anyway, & when I do, I'll let u know, if interested. Not trying to get-N your business, but I know how t/ panic attacks I have make me feel, & I certailnly hate to hear that any1 else is dealing w/ them. Maybe u can ask your dr. about this & hopefully will help . Later,
I have posted in the Anxiety forum also. ...
Re: Suffering from Panic DisorderI've been having panic attacks for a few years now, but lately they've been getting worse.
A few days ago i was sitting in my room with my sister and i bursted out in tears and started panicing, but i felt like i was about to die. I couldn't keep my eyes open and i was completely out of breath and collapsed.
