Fear of butterflies

Post a new topicby Guest on Wed Jun 02, 2004 2:30 pm

For as long as I can remember I have been terrified of butterflies. I had kind of gotten back into going out and enjoying it...until today. I stepped on this huge orange and brown butterfly. I could not get away fast enough and still can feel it crawling on me. I cannot deal with this feeling. It's like being raped. And yes I've been through that too. Please help! I don't know what else to do. I've went to doctor's around here and that all dismiss it as BS.

Well this is a problem that your doctors are caling it BS. Are u seeing therapists or MD's? MD's dont know what the hell they're talking about. First, go see a therapist, he will probably put you through a prolonged exposure technique with modeling. in about three hours u should be fine, specific, animal subtype phbias are easy to cure. Go and get your rape trauma checked out too. if you have a history of abuse and molestation this could pose a huge problem.
