Top Secret

I am a two- tour Viet-nam combat vet
with diagnosed PTSD, wanting to establish a relationship with a female and not knowing for sure if I should tell her what my “situation” is. Should she know about my ptsd or should I keep it
quiet for fear of scaring her off? I would like to hear from other vets with
the same situation or anyone who could help.

I am female and I also have PSTD and if your lady friend can't handle it, then best she show her true colors now. Good luck M.

Please trust me. The woman you would likely want in your life wants complete and total honesty, and Ican tell you from my 56 years' experience, there are very, very few men who are man enough to be 100% honest (since I'm a woman, I don't know how honest or dishonest women are in "love" relationships). I have yet to find a man with or without PTSD who has that capability (the only one I know happens to be my cousin). I wish you would go to my website that my best friend created for me as a Christmas present several years ago. It's got a long name but maybe will let you know how a lot of us feel about Vietnam vets: [moderator note: website address has been removed] and click on VFW (I think that's the name of it) or you can go into whatever section you want to. It tells you who I am (based on my friend's knowledge of me). As I said, SHE created the whole thing with the exception of My tribute to Vietnam vets.

I don't know what state you live in, but if you ever feel the need or want to chat with me, my email address is [moderator note: e-mail address has been removed], and label the subject "Bill, Vietnam Vet," and I'll know who you are. I don't open emails that I don't know who they come from.

If I hear from you, great. If I don't, good luck and try to get some help for yourself. You're worth it!

P.S. You don't need to tell her right away.... See how well you get along first. It need not be as big a secret as you think it does, not if she's a good woman....
