ptsdmy husband was just diagnosed with ptsd We found out when he was arrested for domestic battery towards me. He was a victim of homicide 10 yrs ago with his late wife. He was at the mental ward at the hospital after being arrested because of suicidal thoughts. Right now we are at a no-contact order for the state becasue of the battery. His counclers recommended that he should return home and try to live a normal life with his kids and me. What would reccomend, Staying away for a little longer or should he get back into the routine of things?
Re: ptsdThis sounds like an incredibly complicated situation and I would hesititate to give advice.. I am not sure what you mean when you say he was a victim of homicide as he is obviously alive.
I would hope that his councilors are not only interested in him but in your family and in your safety. You and your family need to be assured of safety and I would directly ask if them if they think it will be safe for him to return. I would not just listen to them but also make up my own mind as he has a history of abuse [quote] my husband was just diagnosed with ptsd. Re: Re: ptsdThank you. When I say victim, I meant the his late wife was the victim. A nieghbor broke into their apartment and shot her while my husband was at work. She was changing their 4 mth old daughter when she got shot. My husband was in grief for 4 and a half yrs before he met me. We also have outside influences that seem to disturb a lot of comotion in our family as well. We both will be getting some help starting this week and hope to understand this situstion more clearly. But as for now the courts have not lifted the no-contact order, so I can see him or communicate with him until it is what is called in Idaho, Quashed. Till then I am trying to keep my kool and taking medication called Zoloft for my depression to help me through this. thanks again. Kimberly
