I am 57 yr old male who had radical Prostate surgery 6 months ago after cancer found in prostate.I have the symptoms associated with Low T and was confirmed by blood test. My urologist doesn't want to prescribe Androgel for some reason so I am in limbo? Any experience like this. My regular doctor gave me a prescription for Androgel. Is there a risk of it causing cancer to reappear?

I am not sure what the composition of Androgel is, but I do know that if you are considering replacing lost hormones of any kind, you definitely want to be sure that they are bio-identical (the same chemical composition of what your body makes). I am not a doctor, but I have done extensive research on hormone replacement and hormones (not the synthetic type, but the REAL hormones) are protective against cancers and other diseases. The only reason to EVER replace a hormone is if there are low levels, though - you want to achieve normal and balanced levels to pprotect against diseases. You will need a prescription, and the bio-identicals are made specifically for your unique requirements in a compoundiing pharmacy - drug companies do not offer these hormones as they are naturally occuring in the human body and not patentable.

Thanks, had radical proste cancer surgery and began feeling weak, tired with no energy, low or no libido, belly fat stiffness in bones, jolints and muscles. Surgeon said it was just having had major surgery and in about a year I would feel better. My regular Dr. prescribed androgel but asked that the urologist ok it first which he did not. Seems like I am in limbo, Low T, which is the worst consequence feeling bad or risking cancer return although PSA was zero and Dr. said he got it all and it was very early contained within prostate gland.

Just thought I would see if others had similar experience. Would like to feel better like my old self again.
